Best Buddie

As soon as I saw this 'Bugaboo' image
I knew I had to get it.

This is so me and my best  blogging buddie  Miss Di.

I wanted to make and send a card to Di to say Thankyou
 as she helped me through
some very dark moments a few weeks ago
and was a cyber shoulder to cry on and cry buckets I did.
Card has been received so I can show.
It is a twisted easel card. I love making these .
The image is called  'Make it Snappy - Friends'
which I have coloured with my promarkers
and a gold gel  pen.
The design paper is by Sally Moret.
I had a little piece over which I was able to fussy cut
out some of the flowers to adhere to the front of the card.
I have layered up using pink and yellow cardstock.
The sentiments were printed off in word
Of course we both had to be wearing pink
as it is our favourite colour.

Summer Flip Flops.

It's  a new challenge over at my

My first thought was Washi Tape Flip Flops
as one does!
First  I needed to gather some stash together and
this is just some of what I eventually used.

I drew a rough shape out  on paper until  I was happy
that it resembled a flip flop base and then cut
a left /right out from corrugated card
to give the appearance of a sole.
I stuck two strips of washi tape back to back on a sheet of paper
for the straps.
I embossed a sheet of white card with
SU's Decorative dots folder to represent the base and
coloured with distressed ink to make them look worn.

I puched holes in the bases and threaded the
washi  tape straps through and then
decorated with embellishments in  my stash.
Butterflies were cut from a satin strip.

I also cut out  more white card to make the
bottoms and used distress ink to age.

Let It Snow.

Time once again for the girls to show
their makes for the Christmas Card Club.
The theme this time set by Christine is
'Let It Snow'
Another delve into my used Christmas cards stack
produced this card front.
Loads of the white stuff on here.
To me this was just begging to be made  into a
Shaker Card.
At this point I should really tell you that me and
'Micro beads' do not get along!!
So,  many remakes later here is the card I made.
I used an EF by Crafts -Too called 'Spots'
on a sheet of white card and then used my new
Xcut Shape Cutter System  for
Rectangle and Square Tracks which
I found quite easy to use once I had mastered
the technique of turning corners.
I cut the card down to fit behind the frame
and used 3D oblong pads cut into strips to make
the casing to contain the micro beads.
(Those little perishers have a mind of their own).
I used a piece of acetate for the window and pearls
from my stash.
The sentiment was cut from another card front.
A blank card base was covered in coloured card stock
to match the Fawn and the whole of the shaker element
was attached to the front.

Oriental Beauty

It's the second week of my Butterfly Challenge

Talisman =  a species of charm engraved on metal or stone to which wonderful effects are ascribed

Here is my inspiration card for you.

I had a tag that I'd made ages ago
that I had decided to dismantle to reuse the picture on it.

This left me with a pile of left over  bits on my desk
and whilst looking through my stack of
used christmas cards for Sundays Post
I noticed this Geyser girl card front.
(The Doc had a lot of  Japanese contacts from work
and they sent christmas cards each year
which I had kept for the pretty pictures)
I remembered that I had an Oriental talisman/charm
in my stash so along with the bits on my desk this card was born.

I trimmed the picture down to fit the size of card used
and backed with blue card stock to match her kimono.
The piece of calico and lace were from the dismantled tag.
Butterflies are cut from gold card using SU's  Beautiful Wings
and were a prezzie from my good blogging buddy Di.
Thankyou Miss!

Edwardian Charm.

Every so often my computer does a mahoosvie
upgrade which normally either happens in the background
or as you close down but not this time oh no.
It decided to shut down all my programs last night
just when I was trying to get my scheduled posts
and Mr Linky up and running along with this post
so I had to give up and leave the computer to it!
Thankfully everything seems to be in order this morning.
Phew!!

So somewhat late is my inspiration for
my current  Butterfly challenge.

Talisman =  a species of charm engraved on metal or stone to which wonderful effects are ascribed.

Originally the card was going to be in yellows
but when I was sorting through my papers I caught sight of this one
and it went so well with the little charm I had already
picked to use.
Papers are by Raspberry Road which I distressed around the edges.
I really went to town on the distressing gadget and had a ripping time
as it were.
Flowers are by Little Birdie 'Boutique Elements'.
Centres are glass lucite flowers that I have had for ages.
Felt spray by Artemio.
I raided my stash for the ribbon, lace, charm and gems.
The butterflies are Fly stickers.
I put loads of these into my Goodie bags but never
think to use any for myself.
I had enough of the papers left to decorate the
inside plus another butterfly.
Sentiment is by Woodware.

Just once in a while I'm pleased with a card .
I'm really pleased with this one!!

Festive Trees.

I had a rush job
(well Ok I knew about it back in January when July was ages away!)
which needed to be finished and delivered by this weekend
so my entry with the girls in
The Christmas Card Club is a wee bit late.
The latest theme was set by Granmargaret
'Christmas Trees'
I have resorted to the LOTV Art pad
Set 14 'Festive Foilage' again  and made
another 3 cards up.
(I felt a bit miserly only putting one late one in)

Th first card uses a new shape
'Corner Flip  Fold Card'
which I found several tutorials for on You Tube
and adapted to make my own  style.
I used a green card blank and cut the fold
using my Fiskars trimmer.
Cut and layered up using red and white card stock.
Gold christmas sticker from stash.

2nd card was made using 3 separate  die cuts
which I then hinged together.
I have called this a 'Die cut Fun Fold.'
Die used is Xcut Rectangle Parenthesis.
I used the next size down to cut the image and create
the side panels with the next size down again on the sides
which you can see a bit clearer in the picture below.
Gold sentiment stickers from stash.

3rd card uses the shape
'Zig Zag Double Fold'
I used a green card blank to make the card base shape.

I used read card stock to cut the layered panels.
The celtic stickers  were in my stash.
The sheet they were on just said Goldlabel - 617 Layers
so I don't know who made them.
Here is the card opened up to reveal the last tree.
Gold stickers from stash.

Sumertime

It's the 2nd week of my Butterfly challenge
Here is another  card I have made for your inspiration.

I have used cream cardstock for the base card.
Layered orange card on top and then matted
the design paper on top.
Paper is by Kate Knight from her Spring Fling stack.
I chose to use this paper as I had a packet of gems in my stash
which I knew would  be perfect for the flower centres.
Butterfly is a foil topper by Dufex again from my stash
along with the gold sentiment sticker.

Framework.

We have another  challenge for you

The sponsor this time is

We got to choose a digital image to play with
and my choice was this lovely
Flower Frame.

I have coloured the image using  promarkers
in shades of orange and peach for the flowers
. Then lightly dusted with matching Pearlescent  chalks.
I went over the outline of the image using a silver gel pen.
I cut the inside of the frameaway before colouring and
layered up two of the flowers using  toning brads for the centres

I hunted through my paper stash for design paper
for a paper to compliment the flowers and found this
one which is by Raspberry Road.
I put it with a toning peach plain card and layered up
behind the image using more brads.
The sentiment is a Brittania word die
which I cut out 3 times and adhered together to give
a raised 3D effect inside of the frame .
Card shape is a tent fold card
which makes it perfect for standing up.

As always the challenge is Anything Goes.

It's a Gem!

It's a new challenge over at my
so here is my Inspiration card
to show you.

The blank base card was given to me by my
good blogging buddy Di.
The Butterfly wings came from another
blogging friend Gail in a recent swap package.

The wings have such vibrant colours on them
that I matched up some gems from my stash
and embellished both the butterfly and the card.
Gold foil sentiment also  came from my stash.

Challenge runs for the next fortnight
so hope you can find some Gems
and flutter by.
