Thank you Swing Fold card.

Ever onward with finding a new card shape to make.
This one is called a Swing fold and is made using a die cut.
I found loads of versions on You Tube.
I used this excellent Tutorial on
Splitcoaststampers by Norma  Lee.

I used a Spellbinders label 4 as my die cut shape.

Backing paper is by Sally Moret 2012( a freebie from a magazine).
Butterfly panels made using a tonic border punch.
Flower shapes were already cut out in my stash.
I coloured using promarkers to match the design  paper.
Leaves were also precut in coloured card in my stash.
Pearls and liquid pearls used for flower centres.
Fabric butterfly found in my stash.

Taken at another angle to show the swing  effect.

Finally  the inside of the card.
Sentiment is an Anita's  Outline Sticker.
I made this card to give to  The Doc's  Aunt
and  to showcase the new theme

Last of the Fairies.

There is still some time left
for my  Fairy Challenge which
has a day left to run.

Here is my last  inspiration for you.

Boy did I have fun/not making it too!
As I am trying to make as many
new style cards as I can
this Screen Divider card
caught my eye when I was looking on YouTube
for ideas.
All the tutorials have used
the SU Decorative Label Punch
(to create the feet)
which I do not have (going on shopping list asap)
but me being me decided to go ahead and make
the card anyway using an alternative.
I ended up rethinking and making the card
entirely differently to the  tutorials.
The panel is actually two pieces joined together.
See what you think.
I used  Spellbinders Labels 4 to create the feet.
Stamps were a freebie in Cardmaking & Papercraft  mag.
I used two toning colours of SU card stock for the screens.
Stickles in Diamond white used on the wings.

Decorative edges made using a Tonic corner punch.
I wanted the back of the screen to look as pretty
as the front.
Design paper  by Jennifer Ellory (another freebie)
Ef is by Spellbinders 'Lovely Lattice' ES-009
If you look very closely you might just spot the join!

A lot of spudling went into the making of this card.

Penguin Post.

Another new card shape.
This one is a
Stair Step Fold Card.
No2. 2015.

I had time to spare so I
spudled  and came p with this one.
I saw this shape on K.T. Fit Kitty's blog
and she very kindly posted the tutorial for it
which you can find here by Splitcoaststampers.

It is a very  easy fold to do.
I used my Scor pal.

The penguins are toppers which came free
in a magazine a couple of yrs ago.
I added Sickles to their scarves and hats.
The line of houses was a die cut in my stash
which I coloured black and then added coloured card to the back
of the window apertures.
The trees I did freehand on a separate piece of cardstock
(mainly to adhere to the back of the houses to neaten up).
Again lamppost was already die cut and in my stash.
I painted with acrylic paint and then distressed using liquid pearls.
Tore a few stripes of paper for the hills and
adhered Stickles to the top edges.

Side view showing the 3D layering effect.
Sentiment created using Britannia word dies.

Bluesy does it.

Managed to get the fresh food shopping  all done
yesterday and it was hassle free too.
Our local Sainsbury's had every
till not only  open but working as well.
There were plenty of staff around the isles
for The Doc to ask where his favourite nuts were
and  his after dinner tipple so we came home
well pleased with ourselves.
The Doc does like his custard tarts from there
and I like the  blue stripy boxes they come in
so without further ado here's
Christmas Card  No 1.  for next years stockpile!
My New Yrs resolution is to do
some alternate style/shape cards
so I thought I would start off with this one.

I was meant to be making an envelope pocket style card
but it was not until I had cut the triangle sides away
I realised they were meant to overlap not meet in the middle!!
So being the mother of invention I'm going to call it
a Tag Fold Card instead.

Pre coloured digi is from the House Mouse Triple CD collection.
Matted onto a sheet of  silver mirror  paper
( cut using Spellbinders A2 Floral Ribbon Threader  die  )
which is in turn matted onto blue glitter card.
Stripy blue card  is from said custard tart box.
I used diamond stickles on the image which shows IRL.

The spotty paper, tag and sentiments were printed
from the same CD .
I mounted the tag to the front on one side and
used the tag hole to attach some ribbon and punched
a corresponding hole on the other side
to tie the card closed.
Simples!

Image is by Bugaboo 'J.J. Xmas Box'
Coloured using Grap'it markers.

Finishing off with a couple of pearls.

We appear to have been charged for
20 toilet rolls.

Tags.

I was feeling all pleased with myself
that all cards were sent and presents wrapped.
Wrapped? Eek!
Light bulb moment
I needed 4 Christmas tags asap.
Now being a hoarder/thrifty person
I keep all the tags/ribbon that come off new clothes
for just such ocassions so out came the pile to sort through.

Then I raided the snippets box for paper
and already printed out images.
Next I spent a happy hr or 2 'Spudling'
as the The Doc calls my creative outbursts.
Rudolph came all the way over from USA
stamped on an envelope from my good bloging buddy
Darnell.  Well I couldn't just  throw him away could I!
I gave him some sparkly antlers and a sparkly bow.
The post box is a digi  by 'Little Musings'
that I coloured with promarkers and then liberal
helpings of white and red  Stickles.
The ribbon came with the tags.
Below is the back of them with space
left for the greetings.

Another rudolph digi. This time 'Roddy Reindeer'
by flat friends Emma Canning.
Fussy cut and given a liberal coating of stickles.
Snowman is by  'Digi Stamp 4 Joy'
The digi is a snowman at the base of a candle.
I fussy cut the snowman out
colouring with my promarkers

and then added the candle part on the back.
Berries are 2 colours of liquid pearls applied.

Sentiments are Anita's stick ons in
both gold and silver.

It's week 3 over at my  Butterfly Challenge

Can be Christmas or non Christmas, you choose
just so long as they have wings.
The challenge is running until 30th Dec.
and there is a $15.00 gift certificate for the winner
from

My post for today is an image by
'The Papershelter.com
I coloured back  in April on a Promarker class
I attended at my local craft store.
Didn't have an  occasion at the time to use it so it has been
sat in my bits and bobs tray awaiting inspiration to take hold.

I had a 2nd wooden frame that I had bought for 50p from
the local charity shop so I decided to repaint using the
colours from the image.
Base is 'Willow Tree' tester pot in matt paint
left to dry , then given a liberal coating of
PVA adhesive (by brushing the adhesive on first one way and then
the other you get a much finer crackle appear
see here for the difference) and then quickly covered with another
tester pot ' Dusted Fondant'.
Fortunately I still had the promarker colour chart from the class
so I was able to use the same pens to colour the roses with.
I used Spellbinders 'Rose Creations' and
Die-namics 'Royal Leaves' dies to create them.
A close up below of the coloured image.
Fairly pleased with my efforts as I'm not a colourist.

Non - Traditional Colours.

It's time once again for the girls
in the Christmas Card Club
to show our cards for the last challenge
of the current  year
which was set by Granmargaret.

'Non- Traditional Colours.'

The card that I have made is so not what  I started
out to make but you know what?
I absolutely love the result!

I matted chestnut brown card stock onto a blank card base.
Design paper was in my stash but I have no name on the back.
More card stock in donkey brown and then
I created this little scene using  'Stampscapes'
Tree Cluster Sm and  small Buck.
I already had the scalloped  die cut circle cut out in my stash .
I used various shades of distress inks in Browns/Wild honey
for sky, sun and hills and stamped the images using  Walnut Stain.
The sentiment is a gold peel off which I stuck onto a scrap of card
which I then coloured to match the secene.
The wording and scene are both popped up on 3D  pads.

I painted diamond Stickles  onto the scene
and this close up shows some
of  the lovely  sparkle it gives.
