More Numbers.

It's the 2nd week of
my Butterfly Challenge
and the theme is

Here is some more inpsiration for you.

I have made this card using  embossing folders
by Sizzix called Textured Impressions 657671
Sewing and measuring  tape set.
Base is  a scalloped card blank.
The pretty paper was a magazine freebie
and came from a pack called Simply British.
I embossed a piece of blue pearescent card
and a pink pastel card and then layered them onto
contrasting coloured card stock.
Sentiments were cut from a ribbon in my stash.
The oddment of cream lace and the cream ribbon
were oddments lying  on my desk.
Pearls from my stash.

The ABC Challenge #T is for 2 of something (2 embossing folders, 2 ribbons).

Creative Artiste #7 Lace and Pearls

Next up is a clock
I suddenly remembered I had this clock face in my stash
and had a light bulb moment
Clock = Numbers.
Simples.

I forgot to take a before photo of the clock
but here is a link to where I bought it from.
Unfortunately they are out of stock but you can see
the bare base that I started with.

I  covered both the rim which is a seperate piece
and the clock base with a sheet of Decoupage rice paper
(which was covered with small butterflies)
torn into small pieces and glued using PVA paste.
When it had dried I wasn't happy with clock face.
It looked too fussy and the numbers would not have shown
up very well so I painted over with a tester pot
of paint called Natural Hessian.
I was happy with the rim so it just had a watered down
coat of the same paint to give it  a worn look.
Luckily I had another sheet of rice paper with the butterflies
in a slightly larger format so I fussy cut 3 of them out
and glued to the face when the paint had dried.
Again I coated them with the watered down paint.
The numbers are  pearlised sticky foam which
came from a set of numbers and alphabet in assorted colours.
The kit came with instructions on how to assemble
and all it needed was a 1.5 v battery.
It has now been happily ticking away on my desk
for the last 2 hours and miracle of miracles
is keeping perfect time.
How the heck did I manage that!!

HA! I was toying with bot those EFs just yesterday as they're the closest I could get to a non-specific numbers card for your challenge. And then you beat me to it - great minds eh? LOVE the clock, clever little sausage!

Love the way you've used these ef's on your card. The combining of the blue & peachy-pink look terrific and I liked the way you've placed each of the elements to create so much dimension. A great take on the N=Numbers theme too. Always love the delicate laces you tuck in. TFS & hope you've got the leaves in hand. DH just mulches ours as he mows the grass. TFS & Hugs. (loved the clock too!).

Back to give you a hug as well and it is sad your dad won't know anything BUT don't under estimate the cells in the mind, deep down he knows you are there but can't respond...my dad was proof of that after being unconscious for 4 days then opening his eyes, eating and loving us seconds before he went.xxx

Your clock looks really good. I like how you rescued something you didn't like with a coat of paint and turned it into something you did like. I think it looks very effective with the larger butterflies on the plain background in the centre. Your numbers are bright and funky too.

Thanks for sharing with us
