Textured does it.

I have  Blog Candy in the  post above.

It is #3 challenge
over with the girls in the Christmas Card Club .
Rachel has chosen today's theme
'Texture'
I have kept to my new  resolution to use
1 used christmas card front and
 a stamp/supplies from my stash
for the 2nd one.

I found this challenge a hard one and very nearly
ran for the hills but it was cold wet and windy
last night so I persevered!

My first card  uses an old christmas card front.
Well actually it is the second card I used as the first one
I had selected with an Owl on it just wasn't working for me.

Quite a bit of texture here.
I created a base from blue cardstock and layered up with
a design paper from Nitwitstoo collection  'Crossteal'.
Next up was a layer of hessian that I frayed around the edges.
The next layer you can't really see is embossed with a bark effect.
The original image I was going to use on top of it
had been cut into an oval and this one is oblong.
It looked so good I didn't want to risk cutting it down
and spoiling the effect.
The bling and the wooden sentiment were in my stash.

My second card uses this Delightful
Nordic Christmas stamp by Crafter's Companion
called 'Christmas Cheer.
I fell in love with him straight away. There are 4 in the set
and I bought 2 of them. I coloured him with my Promarkers.
My texture is created by using green felt adhered
to a red card blank and then a layer of red card
which I have embossed  with a EF by Crafter's Companion
called 'Reindeer Parade'
I scruffed this up with some sand paper for more effect.
I used star stickers on his blanket for more texture.
More green felt die cut with a circle die and the wooden
sentiment by Scrapmatts was layered on top with 3D pads.
This was actually a bauble design but I removed the hanging bit
as I just  wanted the circle. (I did the same on the card above).

I finished the insid eoff with matching green card
and a left over piece from the embossed sheet.

I'm so glad you didn't run out in the rain because your efforts turned out splendidly. I really like the burlap with the lovely jeweled border. Can just see the bark effect behind the layers when I enlarge. This has texture with a capital T! I LOVE it. But I also love this cute reindeer with the puzzled expression. How clever to think of texture with the felt and star stickers. It's a brilliant design, lots of texture for the theme, and YAY for you at sticking to your resolve about the recycle cards too. I think I have that wonderful Nordic EF, and it's perfect for this guy. Well DONE! Rain must bring out the best creativity in you, Valery. TFS & have a great week.

Wow! Two brilliant cards, your persevering has gone fab fruits!!! Great recycling, too, as always! Love your textile textures, expecially the burlap and the border in the first one! And the embossing add a great dimension!
Love also so much the felt and the sand paper in the second one! The cute reindeer and the circle with Santa's sleigh looks so fun and festive! Really two amazing cards!

You'd never know you found this hard Valery. Both cards are delightful. Love the trim down the side of the first and the reindeer is very cheeky in the second. A good challenge I thought and liked it. Hope you enjoyed it even if it was a challenge. Zx
