Appearances can be deceiving!

Time again for a new challenge on the butterfly blog.

#79 Butterflies + L is for Lots f Layers and/or the colour Cream.

Here is my inspiration for you.

A simply layered up card but is it what it seems!

A base card of chocolate brown pearlised card stock layered up with burnt orange and cream cardstock to match the butterflies of the design card. I'm not sure where it came from now.  Six layers in all some of which are raised on 3d pads for more dimension.
The beauty of the card though is in the hidden mechanism inside the card  as this is a 'Twisted Pop Up' card.  I saw this done on Sue's (Zouave Cards) blog and immediately thought how well it would work for this challenge of loads of layers.. There are lots of variations and tutorials on You Tube and I did use a combination of ideas from more than one of them.

This is the card as it begins to open up.

 A little bit more.
Keep going and finally fully opened.

Closed down showing the folded mechanism from the side .It really is magic.

Hope I have inspired you to play along. This challenge is running for 4 weeks so you have plenty of time to put your thinking caps on and join in.

I love that color combination of brown, cream and burnt orange. The inside is beautiful too but the folds look beyond me. Very clever and unique.

Oh, my goodness, Mrs. A......what a super-fabulous and complicated card!!! I adore the beautiful outside with the gorgeous butterflies on chocolate, burnt orange, and cream...a lovely color combo. But that inside is nothing short of amazing! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay beyond my skill set, for sure. If I tried it, I would have things all in a jumble and end up with some twisty black hole contraption that takes off fingers and sucks in kittens and small children when it is opened!! Eeek. I will leave fancy folds to the pros! Fabulous work!!

Very clever but it looks as though it folds fairly flat too. You've used lovely muted colours and it all looks fab. There are so many clever ideas out there and so little time!

I just recently learned to make one of these pop and twist cards, and I love how yours turned out! The inside is just as pretty as the outside, and that's some serious layering for sure!!
